MessageSabina Čanić is Visual Artist based in Dubrovnik, Croatia. Paint realistic female portraits connected with nature with ink, tea, red wine, graphite pencil, gold leafe, posca pen and rainwater. Through paintings she is talking about the materialized form of her emotions and her iner world and through symbolism talking about life and personal fears and her own transformation through paintings.
She was born in Varaždin in 1968., now lives and works near Dubrovnik, Croatia. A fashion designer by profession, she has been drawing since his early youth. She was a long-time member of LUV (Art Associacion Varaždin) and was their secretary for 5 years.
She painted unique silk scarves for the Varaždin Silk Industry, VIS. Participates in group and solo exhibitions in the country and abroad.
Since 2021, she has been a member of the United ArtSpace Organization.
Since 2023, she is member of HDLU Zagreb, Croatian Society of Fine Art and HLD Croatian Art Society

Statement
I paints realistic female portraits connected to nature in 7 different stages, in 7 different layers, with 7 different materials, in order to get 7 different faces of the same woman. I paints them with ink, tea, red wine, gold leaves, pencil, posca pen and rainwater.
Reflecting on life, I wants to convey the feeling of freedom and the joy of creation, passionately expressing emotions and love for nature, combining painting and drawing elements and techniques in one painting.
I am inspired by life and the process of creation, and by exploring the unconscious in us and its manifestation on the surface.
In my paintings, I use elements of Sacred Geometry and the Fibonacci spiral, and in this way I further strengthen them, in order to transfer that creative energy into your space.
Using these elements in my paintings, I want to add a layer of deeper symbolism and universal harmony to them.
In this way, they are not only visually attractive, but also energy sources in the space.
Through my painting processes, I like to explore and experiment in all the ways I can integrate nature or natural elements into my paintings.
That's how I've been exposing them to the rain or the freezing process over the winter.
I wanted nature to become my co-author and leave its mark on my paintings, coloring them with its raindrops or creating fractals from frozen color pigments.
I am helping people to fill their space with wonderful creative energy and immerse themselves in the world of creative artistic magic.
