The Robert Rauschenberg Foundation is pleased to announce an open call for applications to the sixth annual Archives Research Residency, a one- to three-week research intensive at the Rauschenberg Foundation Archives in New York City. The program provides support for accommodations and other expenses related to the visit. The Rauschenberg Foundation Archives, consisting of Robert Rauschenberg’s personal papers and the records from his Florida and New York studios, is the most comprehensive body of information on the artist’s life and career. In addition, the archives holds unique materials on arts organizations, art movements, and collaborations in which Rauschenberg was involved. Scholars, academics, artists, as well as non-traditional researchers are encouraged to apply

Dar Kawa Artists in Residence aims to provide a comfortable, nurturing environment inside a renovated riad for artists to dive into their creative practice while exploring and researching in Marrakech. Applicants should convey a serious interest in Morocco. Dar Kawa Artists in Residence program provides a single room at our riad for artists wishing to work and do research in Marrakech for up to 10 days. The residency is primarily self-directed, and only one resident is scheduled at a time. Artists can apply year round and selection is based on the strength of portfolio and whether the objectives of the applicant align with what the residency can offer.

The Studios at MASS MoCA artist and writers residency program is embedded in one of the world’s liveliest centers for making and enjoying today’s most evocative art. The Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA) is a former factory complex surrounded by the beautiful Berkshire Mountains in downtown North Adams. The Studios residency invites 10 artists at a time, nationally and internationally, for a residency of 2 or 4 weeks. These residencies provide essential time, space, and individualized support for artists to develop new work and ideas, with our campus being a living source of research and inspiration.

Blackfoot Pathways: Sculpture in the Wild (BPSW) invites artists of all disciplines to apply for a three-week September 2026 residency. Set within 40 acres of forested land in Lincoln, Montana, this program offers time, space, and community connection to create site-specific works inspired the history, landscape, and culture of the Blackfoot Valley.

UP Projects is partnering with the Royal Parks to offer a new, paid 6-month residency opportunity for an artist to be based at Greenwich Park, starting in January 2026. Who can apply: The residency will suit an early to mid-career artist with a socially engaged practice. What the artist gets: £22,000 fee, tailored mentoring, and exclusive studio space in Greenwich Park.

Focus on your creative process this winter in a nurturing space surrounded by trees and with views to a running creek frequented by herons and eagles. Creatives have a dedicated 10'x20' studio space in a historic boat-building workshop with open rafters and fir floors. Curated to support creatives in their artistic journey on Vancouver Island, The Ou-telier is an independent, process-based residency for you to decompress, experiment and play alongside like-minded artists and writers. There is no fee to apply. Applications accepted on a rolling basis.

Est-Nord-Est (ENE) is an artist-run center whose mission is to support an international community of artists and authors in contemporary art by offering a space and time for research and experimentation, as well as privileged access to local resources and know-how. The center is located in Saint-Jean-Port-Joli, a village on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River, in a unique geographical and historical setting. The landscape is dominated by farms, forests, and the river. Saint-Jean-Port-Joli is located 115 km from Quebec City and 350 km from Montreal. The eight-week residencies, bringing together four artists and one author from the field of contemporary art, are offered in spring, summer, autumn, and winter.

The Lucid Art Foundation’s Residency Program for 2026 will focus on art and science in relation to the environment at large in light of the climate crisis. The program emphasis directs artists towards alternative ways of raising awareness and promoting action. Climate crisis areas include: biodiversity, habitat loss, rapid melting of polar ice caps and its consequences, ocean pollution, food security issues, animal migrations, soil pollution in agriculture and food chain issues, forest extinction, and the sixth mass extinction. The Foundation will create an advisory environmental scientist group that the invited artists can connect with for information and consultation during their residency.

Located in the heart of downtown Ashland Virginia, the Hanover Arts & Activities Center (the Center) has long served as a home for artists and cultural activity. In partnership with the Town of Ashland (the Town), the Center invites artists working in various media to apply for a yearlong studio residency program through a juried selection process that will provide affordable, professional studio space to local artists. Through the Town’s support, a portion of each artist’s rent will be subsidized, allowing studios to be offered at a substantially reduced rate.

TIDAL ArtS launches a new residency call offering €50,000 grants to artists or collectives for site-based residencies in four distinctive European aquatic regions: Venice, the Azores, Turku Archipelago, and the Danube. Selected artists will have time, space, and local support to develop ambitious works inspired by oceans, rivers, basins, and ecological relationships. The call encourages proposals that bridge art, environment, and community, exploring place, water, and human/nonhuman entanglements.

Sebastopol Center for the Arts Ceramics Artist in Residence program is designed to invite exceptional ceramicists to experiment with themes and ideas in a self-directed setting. This 6-week residency program offers the space to create a cohesive body of work in a collaborative community. In addition to opportunities to lead two classes or workshops, artist talk, and opportunity to support emerging artists in the Incubator program, the program culminates with a gallery exhibition at the end of the residency period.

The University of Victoria & Jeffrey Rubinoff Sculpture Park Artist Scholar Residency was created by an interinstitutional partnership and their unwavering belief in cultivating the arts. This Residency is for artists and scholars seeking space to focus on creating a work for exhibition or publication that is informed by their investigation of Rubinoff’s work and their experience working at the sculpture park.

Applications for ACRE Summer Residency Program open until November 18! The 14-day residencies host 20-25 artists per session. They support visual artists, sound artists, musicians, performers, writers, community makers, curators, and administrators, ACRE provides artists with the opportunity to expand upon their individual practices and foster generative relationships within a collaborative community. Set on 1,000 acres of wetland, hills, and farmland, the residency facilities include expansive communal work-spaces, a screen-printing studio, an outdoor wood shop, fibers studio, ceramics studio, an art & tech facility, and a sound studio. Shared accommodations are furnished with bathrooms, kitchenettes, and porches.Two meals and a continental breakfast are provided, and are prepared daily using ingredients grown in the surrounding area.

Established in 2022, Taiteilijatalo Taideniitty (Artists' House Taideniitty) is located in an idyllic wooden house district in Old Varkaus and serves as an experiential meeting place for artists and visitors. The former workers' house, which is over 100 years old, has been transformed into a small artists' house and cultural center. We organize art exhibitions, courses, and cultural events.

The Art in the Libraries Program at WVU Libraries, will expand the connections between the West Virginia & Regional History Center’s (WVRHC) West Virginia Feminist Activist Collection (FAC) and the public. This collaborative pilot residency program aims to expand the use of and build upon the archival collection by offering awards to support projects that use the collection in new and creative ways. The WV FAIR Program supports artists in the creation of artists' works, small exhibitions, publications, or other creations that imaginatively study, experiment with, and/or build upon the collection materials. The program is open to all artists, with a preference for WVU alumni, including visual artists, conceptual artists, dancers, writers, and cultural heritage practitioners, including curators.  Applicants whose proposals uncover hidden stories, and new voices will receive strong consideration.

Artist-in-residence SAIKONEON was established in April 2019, aiming to provide a space for research, creation and exchange of knowledge for various artists and designers of various boundaries. SAIKONEON is located less than two hours away from Tokyo under the magnificent natural environment of Mount Fuji, with a facility on the shores of Lake Saiko in Yamanashi Prefecture.

Their residency welcomes artists who seek not only to advance their personal projects but also to engage deeply with the Sacred Valley of the Incas—its culture, nature, and history. They prioritize artists whose practice shows receptivity to new environments and who are enriched by immersion in different cultures and languages. Situated in Huaran, a vibrant agricultural town in Peru's Sacred Valley of the Inca (Calca province, Cusco region) at 9,850 ft (3,000m), their community brings together traditional local communities, residents from across Peru, and an international population from every continent. This dynamic, evolving cultural landscape has flourished over the past decade.

Their mission centers on fostering cultural, social, environmental, and humanitarian exchange.

Open AIR is best known for its unique place-based Artist-in-Residence program that connects artists from all disciplines and origins, with culturally, historically, and ecologically significant locations through collaborative partnerships in Montana. With innovative opportunities available in places such as remote wilderness areas to historically significant sites closer to town, artists have the opportunity to draw inspiration from a regional community dedicated to preserving place, environment, and the arts.

The Arroscia Residency an artist run, 501(c)(3), non-profit corporation open to all emerging and mid-career artists who’s focus is on one or more of the following disciplines: painting, sculpture, drawing, collage, fiber art, photography, installations, and/or mixed media work.

Cafe Tissardmine is a situated in a remote village in the Moroccan Sahara. The recognise the need for artists to recharge, share ideas, be inspired and to find a place to breathe. They run 6 – 7 residencies per year for a maximum of nine artists with this idea in mind. The residency is not project based or requiring specific engagement or outcome but it is a place to find peace and new ideas. Artists from all disciplines are welcome to apply.
A Residency at Cafe Tissardmine is also an opportunity to discover the richness of the Berber culture; their way of life, cooking and crafts.

Artists of all disciplines creating in any media are welcome to apply. Farm Studio International Artist Residency is located in a rural community in India. Residents stay and create in a quiet art centre and beautiful environment where they can develop their artwork free from accustomed distractions. Farm Studio residency provides three types of working spaces where artists can explore their art and ideas in the rural Rajasthani environment; at the Farm Studio indoor studios, the outdoor desert and farm environments, and in Andore Village. Collaboration and experimentation is encouraged. Relationships form between the artists coming from different countries and varied social, cultural, and artistic backgrounds. Many exciting exchanges and dialogues among artists take place, including scheduled artist talks, presentations, works in progress showings, etc.

Professional, contemporary artists/art professionals from all disciplines for whom nature and the surrounding seaside could be an interesting theme to work on are invited to apply.

Their environment is a unique archipelago. With the National Parks and the Archipelago Sea Biosphere Reserve, frozen seas, light summer nights, rich birdlife as well as amazing star nights – this place has something to offer around the year: Outer archipelago or the nearby wild forest lake, the seaside is straight outside AARK, passing ships.

AARK can offer a quiet retreat as well as a more social setting depending on the artist’s needs and other art professionals visiting. They organize a weekly informal meeting in the residency. Travel and working plans, questions, dinners and sauna … or just some coffee together.

The Ano Asites Artists Residency is the sister residency to the Lakkos Artists Residency in Heraklion city. The Lakkos Artists Residency has been running since 2015. After a request from some of the locals in Ano Asites village a new residency was started. The project started in 2019 and hopes over time to create an artistic community based in the village.

The Residency @ Greywood Arts is an artist-run space in our iconic 3-story Georgian house located in the centre of Killeagh, a vibrant modern Irish village. The Dissour River runs alongside the residency, and the the ancient Irish woodland Glenbower is just a short walk upstream. The house and garden are also home to Greywood’s Artistic Director, Jessica Bonenfant, her husband Hughie Coogan, and a menagerie of dogs, cats, chickens and goats. The Coach House, Greywood Arts CLG’s not-for-profit creative hub with studios, art classroom and event space is adjacent to the residency.

Belgrade Art Studio brings its quirky formula of contemporary art and a warm, homey ambience to the Serbian capital. The studio opened during 2011 in a 19th-century listed building in Belgrade’s historic neighborhood of Dorćol. It provides artists with an environment to take themselves out of their daily routines, find new inspiration, conduct research and create new work. The ability to work uninterrupted for hours, days, weeks in a quiet studio. These are just a few of the reasons why so many world’s visual artists, curators, writers come to Belgrade Art Studio each year. Typically, their artists find they accomplish more in a matter of weeks at Belgrade Art Studio than they can in a year at home. It’s all about the work – art.

The Lakkos Artist Residency is a base for creatives to come and explore an authentic Greece city and a wonderful Greek island. The residency has just relocated to a new location that like the previous one needs a bit of an art injection. It’s a small area in Heraklion’s Old Town that time has not touched.
There are a couple of city beaches within walking distance. There is no obligation to put on a presentation at the end of an artist’s stay but if desired we often have one-night-only shows.

The Creative Center in Stöðvarfjörður, established in 2011 within a 2800 m² repurposed former fish factory, marks a transition from its industrial origins to becoming a focal point of culture and innovation in the region. They are offering month-long residencies at The Hide Artist Retreat, nestled in the heart of the Cotswolds. Surrounded by rolling hills, wild woodlands, and protected common lands, the retreat is just a stone's throw from the idyllic Cotswold town of Nailsworth. This unique opportunity provides a one-month, self-led residency for creatives of any discipline, whether they are based locally, nationally, or internationally. The Live/Work studio offers a private, fully contained, versatile workspace designed to provide uninterrupted time for focusing solely on your practice in a peaceful and inspiring location.

The Mentorship Residency Program at Indigo Arts Alliance in Portland, Maine, brings together artists from diverse backgrounds of the African Diaspora to engage in their creative processes while building lasting relationships rooted in co-mentorship. The program pairs a National or International artist with a Local/Regional artist to foster rich conversations, collaborations, and exchanges of experiences, knowledge, and technical skills. Artists are encouraged to work independently but are expected to dedicate 8–10 hours weekly to joint activities, including community engagement and collaborative projects. The residency provides 24-hour access to a flexible 3,000-square-foot community studio equipped for various disciplines. Visiting Artists are provided with private housing within walking distance of the studio.

The Artist In Residence Program (AIR) serves K – 5 students in all six Jamestown elementary schools following the school calendar. Residency options include a fall semester and a winter/spring semester, or both. Artists follow a visual arts curriculum structured on basic design elements working with teachers and administrators. Each rotation requires a completed “Unit Plan” which includes lesson plans or goals, supplies needed, and a section for teacher feedback. The resident artist may use the rest of the day and the weekends for personal studio time, including access to the pottery studio and print shop, and teaching classes at the Arts Center.

Breck Create’s Artist-in-Residence program offers artists across all disciplines the opportunity to focus on their creative process while engaging meaningfully with the local community. Residencies span 2 to 4 months, during which artists reside in a live/work studio within the Breckenridge Arts District, an intimate campus of historic structures nestled under majestic snow-capped peaks in cozy downtown Breckenridge. During the school year, artists serve as guest instructors in Summit County schools, providing support and supplemental curriculum to teachers. In the summertime, artists identify and collaborate with a community partner or organization on educational programs. Artists are expected to facilitate two weekly open studios on campus, instruct weekly lessons in schools and on campus, participate in on-campus public events, and collaborate with a community partner. Priority is given to artists with teaching experience.

Apapacho is PROArtes México’s arts residency and studio space in the heart of Mexico City. This international program of art-based residencies has been launched to provide space and time for artists, curators, art historians, etc, to research and network in one of the most historically and culturally profound cities in the world. As an artist founded and operated space, we strive to provide an increasingly diverse group of guests an affordable international arts residency experience. As the name ‘Apapacho’ reflects, our interest is in developing a thoughtful and caring interaction unique to each resident’s curiosities, needs, and area of focus. The Olepangi Artist-in-Residence Programme is designed to create a space where people and communities come together to share and learn; and for the artist, to create an exceptional experience for those seeking the time and mental space to investigate new ideas and deepen artistic inquiry. They are open to thinkers and creatives and will consider anyone with deep interest and already well-developed skill in visual arts, writing, culinary arts, composers, musicians, scholars, filmmakers, architects and more.

This residence program offers all entering participants a fully furnished room within a communal apartment located on the aqb premises, as well as a studio space catering to the project’s requirements.
They offer varied services to integrate residents into the local art scene and assist in establishing professional connections that best support their work and career. aqb personnel provide assistance through the program, catering to practical needs related to life in Budapest, to obtaining necessary materials, equipment and more.
